Silent Night Christmas bag by Sandra Wheeler

Silent Night Christmas Bag

This Christmas Bag has been made by Sandra as a variation of the Mesh Bag on the Project page of our website.

Christmas bag by Sandra Wheeler

Christmas Bag

This Christmas Bag has been made by Sandra as a variation of the Shopaholic Bag on page 32.

"I used a ribbed placemat and a very old set of handles...they are actually 40 years old. The mat was not quite long enough, so I added a pretty Christmas print and some beads for glitz."

The machine embroidery is from a set called ‘Noel Santa and Snowman Purse’ by Betty Falasca of Betty's Original Embroideries.

Chenille vest by Sandra Wheeler

Chenille Vest

Sandra made this chenille vest for her granddaughter Ashlea. Chenille can be used for so many different purposes.

If you would like to know more about the details of this cute vest, email Sandra via this website. The technique for chenille is outlined from page 85 in Cut Sew n' Go.

Set of placemats by Sandy Liddle, Brisbane

Placemats

Sandy Liddle has done a beautiful job in creating a set of placemats for her friend who just loves tulips. She has embroidered a garden wheel barrow for the centre piece. Her choice of background fabric has highlighted the embroidering in the centre. The wide green rick rack has give depth and definition to the centre panel.
Sandy has used a variation in the process of the bind. She has started her bind at the back and finished it on the front.
Fantastic Sandy and thank you for sharing your project.

Table runner by Sandra with sunflowers by Julianne

Sunflowers on a country-style runner

This beautiful table runner has been put together by Sandra with Julianne's sunflowers, some machine embroidered dragonflies and bees, finished with some lovely country fabric and bound with matching check fabric. It is a variation on the placemat on page 48 and includes the Sunflower free motion project.

Julianne has a great flair for free motion work and these sunflowers really brighten up this runner. Everyone loves the freshness of sunflowers.

Baby bib by Susan Allen, Brisbane

Baby Bib

This is a lovely variation on the basic bib on page 16. Sue has used the Crazy Patch technique and slightly reshaped the bib pattern to suit the fabric size.
She is a lifelong sewer and just loves making small gifts like this one for friends.

"I used up all my little scraps of Christmas prints to make a bib from the Cut Sew n' Go book."

Gift bag by Sandra Wheeler

Gift Bag

This little gold bag is a variation of the Lingerie Bag on page 19. It was made by Sandra using some beautiful black satin with a gold tinge.

"The size has been changed to suit the gift. The ties are very fine gold braid and zip pulls have been added to the ends. This would be a very classy little gift bag for a 50th Wedding Anniversary to hold a special gift."

Machine embroidered designs are from 'Hearts in Gold' collection by Betty Falasca of Betty's Original Embroideries. Original artwork by Clipartoon.com

Pencil case by Sandra Wheeler

Pencil Case

This colourful pencil case has been made by Sandra for her granddaughter as a variation of the Vanity Case on page 11.

"It has been machine embroidered with a young child's design on the front and her name on the back. The fabric has been covered with iron-on plastic after being embroidered and before assembly."

Hand towels by Susan Allen, Brisbane

Hand Towels

This is another of Sue's work this time using the Hand Towel on page 43. Great to see she has used her creative mind to change the tab to a tie.

"I have decorated the hand towel with baby appliqués. It has a rouleau instead of a tab so you can tie it to anything."
Susan Allen, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Easter basket by Melissa Liddle, Brisbane

Easter Basket

In preparation for Easter celebrations, Melissa Liddle has made this delightful Easter basket. This is a variation on the gift basket on page 63. She used the template for the appliqué which is featured in the most recent edition of the Australian magazine Handmade. Melissa considers herself a sewing novice. However with her innovative and creative ideas, I am sure we will see more of her fantastic work. Well done Melissa. The colours are perfect and the design ideal. Enjoy the Easter celebrations.
